Hello everyone,
I´m checking back in with you all...I can´t believe how much time has passed already! It´s been over four months now...I have less than two months before returning to the States. It´s a funny feeling. I feel like I have such little time here and I´m trying to make every moment count. At the same time, I am happy for the prospect of seeing my friends and loved ones in the States. But I also love everybody down here in Panama as well...hopefully (if God doesn´t call us down here permanently) I hope to stay in as much contact with the people and the work as possible. I definitely have grown to love many people down here.
God continues to work on me. I love getting to hear preaching from brothers Juan Carlos and Cristobal Yañez. For the first time in a long time--I´ve really HAD the the time to really spend time when I read the Bible and pray and it´s been so refreshing. God is also working on my gratefulness and I am ever more appreciative of his tender mercies daily.
We spent most of the last week working out on this farm in Cañazas. It´s a property they´ve had for a while but not been able to get it up and going. So, we´ve been machete-ing 8-ft tall hard grass and small trees to clear the land for the farm. And the last day, I got to work on picking and shoveling and hauling earth around....super-tiring and SUPER-fun!!! Some things have grown up that we´re keeping. There is also a possible plan of making it part farm, part little resort...nothing too fancy...something the typical Panamanian could afford but still be an income in addition to the farm crops. The whole idea of working the property up is to create some money flow for the church in Cañazas. Many of the members live off the land and don´t have jobs. With everybody pitching in on the farm property--it will allow them to support more outreach and possibly at some point--financially support a missionary. We are helping them as we have opportunity and praying for those goals.
Well that´s the update for now. Cristobal has some trips to the states visiting churches coming up all related to the Panama School Project...so you can pray for all the pieces to fall into place for that. We continue to see God do amazing things--not just in big miracles, and providing when there is no way, but also working in the hearts of people which is ultimately why we do anything else anyway...
So anyhow...I´m going to go ahead and sign off for now...I love you all and pray you are really seeking to walk more closely with Jesus each day!
